Job Description
Job Summary Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) support individuals with developmental disabilities in achieving independence and quality of life. DSPs provide compassionate, person-centered care while ensuring safety, dignity, and the rights of each individual served. Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and support to individuals in daily living activities including personal hygiene, meal preparation, mobility, recreation, and community involvement
- Implement and follow Individualized Support Plans (ISPs) and Behavior Support Plans (BSPs)
- Monitor and document services provided, progress toward goals, and any changes in behavior, health, or well-being
- Foster a supportive and respectful environment that promotes independence, choice, and inclusion
- Administer medications and perform health-related tasks as trained
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and providers to ensure coordinated, high-quality care
- Maintain compliance with all agency and regulatory policies and procedures Minimum Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED
- Pass all required state and federal background checks
- Complete required training prior to unsupervised client contact
- Demonstrated ability to follow support plans, maintain documentation, and uphold confidentiality
- Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a commitment to person-centered care Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in caregiving or supporting individuals with disabilities
- CNA license and/or CPR/First Aid certification
