About the role We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). In this role, you will provide essential care and support to individuals with disabilities or special needs, ensuring their well-being and promoting their independence. What you'll do Provide hands-on, physically engaged support to individuals with developmental and behavioral challenges, ensuring safety and stability in a fast-paced, high-interaction environment. Serve as a mentor and positive role model, building strong, consistent relationships that promote trust, accountability, and personal growth. Assist with daily living tasks including personal care, meal preparation, and medication support. Implement individualized behavior support plans using approved intervention techniques, maintaining control of situations while prioritizing dignity and safety. Respond confidently to escalated behaviors, including verbal aggression, resistance, or crisis situations, using trained de-escalation and, when necessary, safe physical intervention methods. Lead structured, active programming and recreational activities that channel energy in positive ways and support behavioral goals. Accurately document behaviors, interventions, and client progress in compliance with all regulatory and organizational standards. Qualifications Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Proven experience in medication administration, with adherence to HIPAA regulations. Experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities is highly valued. Familiarity with caregiving, assisted living, social work, or nursing home environments. Strong interpersonal skills (written and verbal communication), with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, families, and colleagues. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment for individuals in your care. The pay range for this role is: 18 - 20 USD per hour(Lancaster)
