Responsibilities Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using proper patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts when necessary. Monitor and observe patients' conditions, recording vital signs and noting any changes in health status to ensure timely intervention. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal planning and preparation. Support clients with medication administration following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Provide companionship and emotional support, fostering positive communication and engagement to enhance quality of life. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing personal spaces. Assist with transportation for appointments or errands, ensuring safe and reliable client mobility within the community or home setting. Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred. Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, hospice care, and neurodevelopmental disorders enhances your ability to support diverse client needs. Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications related to patient monitoring or medication administration are advantageous. Familiarity with patient observation techniques, care plans development, manual handling procedures, and resident's rights is essential. Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform manual handling tasks while maintaining proper body mechanics. Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and teamwork within multidisciplinary care settings.
