Mission Viejo, CA Job Details Part-time $18 - $23 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications CPR Certification BLS Certification First Aid Certification Full Job Description Position overview We are seeking a reliable, patient, and attentive Independent Living Services (ILS) Instructor to provide help to a person with short stature disorder. Services will focus on increasing independence in daily living skills, meal prep/cooking, HUD housing, community navigation, and outings and ensuring safety and accessibility to community bathrooms The ideal candidate is adaptable, observant, and comfortable supporting an individual with outside in the community attending to personal needs. Primary Goals of Support Help with personal care while out in the community Support safe and confident community navigation Assist meal prep/cooking HUD housing Key Responsibilities Personal Hygiene & Daily Living Skills Community Navigation Assistance Provide guidance and support with bathroom needs Encourage independence while offering assistance as needed Help establish consistent daily routines Related Challenges The individual's may present unique challenges that staff must be prepared to address, including: Navigation & Safety Additional guidance may be required to safely navigate environments Staff may need to provide orientation support, mobility assistance. Communication & Accessibility Tasks involving: Mobility assistance while out navigating the community Adapted Training Needs Tasks involving: Maintaining privacy, completing toileting, and navigating restroom environments safely and appropriately. Ideal Candidate Qualities Experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities, and physical disabilities preferred Strong communication, observation, and problem-solving skills Patient, dependable, and adaptable Comfortable providing hands-on support while promoting independence Able to work independently during scheduled early am hours Work Environment One-on-one support in home and community settings Clients schedule Structured, supportive, and safety-focused role Job Requirements Required Qualifications & Compliance Experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities, and Cerebral Palsy preferred. Patient, dependable, and adaptable approach Strong communication and observation skills Ability to provide hands-on assistance as needed Two forms of valid identification Current CPR and First Aid certification Live Scan fingerprint clearance Current TB test clearance kDINwYkEuD
