Job Description

Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver We are seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) / Caregivers to support adults with developmental disabilities in their homes and communities. In this role, you will provide individualized support that helps each person build independence, maintain a safe and comfortable home, participate in their community, and work toward their personal goals. This is a hands-on position that may include personal care, housekeeping, meal preparation, transportation, and assistance with everyday living skills. Available Shifts Day ( Morning) , evening, night, and weekend shifts are currently available. Scheduling and available hours may vary based on individual client needs and assignments. Key Responsibilities Support individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), which may include bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility assistance. Assist individuals in developing and maintaining independent living skills and daily routines. Provide housekeeping and household support, including dishes, laundry, sweeping, mopping, bathroom and kitchen cleaning, general organization, and maintaining a clean and safe home environment. Assist with grocery shopping, meal planning, meal preparation, and dietary needs. Provide medication assistance in accordance with the individual's support plan and company procedures. Support individuals with appointments, errands, shopping, recreational activities, and participation in their community. Provide transportation for client activities, appointments, and community outings as required. Follow individualized service plans and support individuals in working toward their personal goals and greater independence. Provide appropriate behavioral support and follow established behavior-support strategies when applicable. Complete required documentation accurately and on time. Maintain professional boundaries and respect each individual's rights, privacy, dignity, choices, and preferences. Communicate effectively with individuals served, supervisors, families, and other members of the support team. Follow all health, safety, and company policies and procedures. Minimum Requirements Applicants must meet applicable California requirements for employment in Supported Living Services, including: Must be at least 18 years of age. Must possess a valid California driver's license and meet company driving requirements. Must successfully complete required background clearance/fingerprinting (Live Scan) at the time of hire. Must possess or obtain current CPR and First Aid certification as required. Must be willing and able to complete required training provided by AA Living Opportunities throughout employment in accordance with applicable Title 17 requirements. Must be dependable and able to work independently in individuals' homes and community settings. Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, caregiving, or community-based services is preferred but not required for all assignments.
