Other duties may include:
Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, performs bedside patient care, anticipating patient needs, and prioritizing care. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for assigned patients: accurately measures and records vital signs, I&O, height and weight, and Activities for Daily Life and records in the patient record, ensures patient safety is maintained at all times and is documented. Immediately informs the Registered Nurse of any changes in the patient's condition from the previous baseline. Demonstrates knowledge in the use of equipment pertinent to treatment. Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, performs routine patient admission and discharge duties and documents in the patient record.
Qualifications:
Required High School diploma or equivalent. Basic Life Support certification. Current certification as a Nurse Assistant/Certified Nurse Assistant from the state of California or completion of the first semester of a Registered Nurse program or equivalency. Limited Phlebotomy certification (must be obtained within the first year of employment). Not applicable for Patient Care Assistants hired with a Registered Nurse license. Demonstrates effective communication, interpersonal skills, and organizational ability. Knowledge of proper body mechanics, safety measures, and infection control. Ability to follow instructions. Knowledge of section-specific test information and instrumentation may be required. Preferred Recent employment as a Certified Nurse Assistant. Exemption Status Non-exempt Benefits Eligible Yes (excluding Per Diem) Schedule Full-time, Part-Time, and Per-Diem positions mey be available.

period (2 weeks) Available hours: 72 (Full-time), 48 (Part-Time), and 24 (Per Diem) Schedule Details 12-hour shift. Primarily nights (1900-730).

Our Staffing Office provides three levels of support to the hospital based on nursing expertise and patient acuity. As a Patient Care Assistant, you ll be asked to help support the nurses who serve our various medical/surgical units, including Oncology, Pulmonary, Gynecology/Urology, Surgical, Telemetry, and Labor/Delivery/Recovery (additional skills and knowledge of equipment may be required). You ll work under the direction of a licensed Registered Nurse, assisting in direct patient care by providing Activities for Daily Living, comfort, nutrition, and hygiene needs for adult and senior patients. You ll also take and record clinical measurements, collect specimens, provide transportation, and maintain equipment and supplies.
