Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using manual handling techniques like Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods. Monitor patient health by taking vital signs, observing changes in condition, and reporting findings to healthcare professionals promptly. Support medication administration in accordance with care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist residents with meal consumption to promote proper nutrition. Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols. Document care activities accurately in resident records, including patient observations, care plans updates, and incident reports. Provide transportation assistance for appointments or outings using personal transportation or facility vehicles while ensuring resident safety. Requirements Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism or dementia, or in senior care environments like assisted living or nursing homes. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and emergency response procedures including CPR and First Aid certification. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality at all times. Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling safely using appropriate equipment such as Hoyer lifts or patient transfer methods. Strong communication skills for engaging effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams while respecting residents' rights. Experience working with diverse populations including those with intellectual disabilities or developmental disabilities is highly valued. Flexibility to work various shifts in home health or community care settings; valid driver's license preferred for client transportation assistance.
