This rewarding position involves delivering personalized instruction, fostering positive behavior, and supporting clients in their daily activities within home and community settings. As an ILS Instructor, you will help create a safe, engaging environment that promotes growth, skill development, and meaningful participation in everyday life. Duties Provide direct support to individuals with autism, intellectual disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, and other disabilities through tailored instruction and positive reinforcement strategies. Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, grooming, meal preparation, and household tasks. Support clients during community outings and transportation to ensure safety and engagement in social activities. Implement behavior management techniques to promote appropriate behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors. Collect data on client progress, document observations, and maintain accurate records of services provided. Administer medication as directed and monitor health status, ensuring compliance with safety protocols. Communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members to coordinate care plans and share progress updates. Requirements Experience working with individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, or neurodevelopmental disorders is essential. Knowledge of special education principles and behavior management techniques. Ability to communicate using American Sign Language (ASL) is a plus. Prior experience in behavioral health or social services environments preferred. Familiarity with standard passenger car operation for client transportation purposes. Experience supporting clients with cognitive disabilities and assisting with ADLs required. Strong communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration. Valid first aid and CPR certification required; ongoing training encouraged. Ability to collect data accurately and maintain detailed documentation of services rendered.
