As a Direct Support Professional in Salinas/Monterey, you will play a vital role in supporting clients as they develop valuable job skills and gain independence. This position offers hands-on experience in a variety of work settings, including janitorial, yard work, and retail, depending on program needs. Responsibilities Provide direct support and training to individuals with intellectual disabilities in workplace settings. Assist clients in developing job skills and overcoming employment barriers. Guide and encourage clients through tasks such as janitorial, yard work, or retail duties. Offer constructive feedback and positive reinforcement to enhance client performance. Ensure a safe and supportive environment for all individuals served. Collaborate with team members to meet program goals and uphold contract expectations. Represent NCI Affiliates professionally when interacting with community partners and employers. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience working with adults with developmental disabilities preferred. Must have a personal vehicle, a valid California drivers license, and current state-required auto insurance. Ability to complete First Aid and CPR training. Ability to regularly sit, stand, bend, twist, walk, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 lbs.
