Job Description
Job Summary A direct hire opportunity is available for a dependable Dog Walker / Pet Care Assistant in San Clemente, CA. This role supports pet care on a private property and is ideal for an experienced animal care professional who enjoys hands-on work with dogs in a structured, professional environment. The Dog Walker / Pet Care Assistant will provide daily care, walking, feeding, grooming support, hygiene upkeep, and occasional overnight coverage. This position offers steady part-time hours, medical benefits, and the opportunity to work in a respectful environment with clear communication, supportive leadership, and organized expectations. The role is well suited for someone who is calm, discreet, flexible, and committed to providing high-quality care for animals. Key Responsibilities
- Walk, feed, groom, and care for multiple dogs according to established schedules, dietary needs, and medical instructions.
- Maintain clean and organized dog areas, including bowls, towels, beds, and related supplies.
- Monitor dog health, behavior, and supply needs, and communicate concerns promptly through text, ClickUp, or Slack.
- Assist with playtime, general enrichment, hygiene, cleanup, and transportation to veterinary visits as needed.
- Provide scheduled 9 PM check-ins and occasional overnight coverage when required.
- Support coverage for coworkers, holidays, travel periods, and schedule changes as needed. Compensation and Benefits
Pay:
$23 to $28 per hour, commensurate with experience.- Position type: Direct hire, non-exempt.
Schedule:
Approximately 30 hours per week.- Regular hours: Monday and Friday through Sunday, 10 AM to 12 PM and 5 PM to 8 PM.
- Additional shifts may be available during the week as needs arise.
- Overnight care, when needed, is paid separately at a flat rate of $100 per shift and includes a 9 PM check-in to let dogs out.
- Holiday pay is doubled when holiday coverage is required.
- Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage.
