Job Description

Achievement House is a reputable non-profit organization committed to empowering individuals with developmental disabilities. We provide vocational training, education, adaptive living skills programs, advocacy, and community living services. We are currently seeking a dedicated Direct Support Professional/Adults with Disabilities to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support and training to individuals across various sites and programs within our agency. This is an opportunity to promote independence and inclusion for adults with intellectual and/or physical disabilities, making a significant difference in their lives. We offer a competitive compensation package, including a $250 sign-on bonus, and a supportive work environment. Responsibilities Uphold a courteous, positive, and professional demeanor while interacting with individuals served and the community. Provide continuous instructions for work specific to vocational growth and training objectives that align with abilities and development. Ensure timely submission of all required paperwork, including transportation paperwork, attendance, job coach notes, objective sheets, incident/accident reports, time studies, and case management documentation. Provide support and training across a variety of sites/programs within the agency, assisting adults with disabilities. Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to learn multiple worksites and programs. Qualifications High school education or equivalent is required. Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred. Must have own vehicle and maintain a current California driver's license. Must provide on-going proof of current state-required auto insurance. Must clear fingerprints through the California Department of Justice and the FBI. Must successfully complete First Aid / CPR training (training is offered onsite). Strong oral and written communication skills. Basic reading, writing, and math skills. Ability to demonstrate compassion, patience, resourcefulness, and make sound decisions. Ability to work with minimal supervision and motivate others.
