Direct Support Professional (DSP) - Overnights Coryell Autism Center - Santa Cruz, CA $20.90/hour | Full-time or Part-time Job Overview The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a vital role in supporting adults with autism by delivering personalized care that enhances independence and overall quality of life. We are looking for a part-time team member to support our Overnight shifts with our Supported Living Services (SLS) clients in their homes. Shifts are generally from 8pm - 8am. There is a possibility for full-time work for candidates meeting our Enhanced DSP (EDSP) requirements who are also open to working daytime shifts. Key Responsibilities (Overnight) Remain on-site overnight to provide supervision and ensure client safety while clients are sleeping Maintain a quiet, low-stimulus environment conducive to rest for clients Be available to respond appropriately if a client wakes, needs assistance, or if an unexpected situation arises Follow Individual Program Plans (IPP) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) during overnight hours, as needed Support limited evening or early-morning routines as outlined in the client's plan Monitor the home environment for safety concerns and address issues if they occur Document overnight notes, incidents, or relevant observations for continuity of care Communicate important updates to supervisors and incoming daytime staff Plain language expectation: Overnight staff are permitted to sleep during their shift when clients are sleeping, while remaining available to respond if needed. Staff have their own separate sleeping accommodations. Skills Strong communication skills and ability to connect with clients and families Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting individuals with diverse needs Required Qualifications Minimum of 6 months experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities Valid California driver's license with clean driving record and current auto insurance TB clearance and successful completion of Live Scan background check Current CPR certification (or willingness to obtain) Schedule Shifts are generally from 8pm - 8am Flexible scheduling; full-time and part-time options Expected hours: 24-36/week Multiple daytime shifts (with increased responsibilities) also available at $28-34/hr based on experience (DSP vs. Enhanced DSP) Apply today to join a mission-driven team making a real impact in Santa Cruz County.
