Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities, assisting them in leading fulfilling lives. This is a daytime position that requires availability 8am-2:30pm. Your responsibilities will include aiding with daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment. Duties Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, Job coaching, community involvement Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for individuals in your care. Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs and preferences. Facilitate social interactions and community engagement to promote inclusion. Support clients in developing life skills such as budgeting, and self-care routines. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by adhering to health and safety protocols. Document daily activities and progress in accordance with organizational policies. Collaborate with family members, and other caregivers to ensure comprehensive care. Requirements Previous experience in caregiving or direct support roles is preferred; experience in hospice care or assisted living is a plus. Understanding the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities is essential. Ability to lift clients as needed and assist them with mobility challenges. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members. A caring attitude with a commitment to enhancing the lives of those you support. Knowledge of memory care practices is advantageous but not required.
