Part-Time 1:1 Caregiver / Direct Support Professional 1276 S Chambers Rd Aurora, CO 80017 Aurora, CO Job Details Part-time $19 an hour 21 hours ago Benefits 401(k) matching Qualifications Spanish CPR Certification English Assisting with ADLs Food preparation Full Job Description Job Overview Angels of Colorado is seeking a reliable, energetic, patient, and confident Part-Time 1:1 Caregiver to provide individualized support to one client with developmental and intellectual disabilities. This position is dedicated to supporting one client through one-on-one activities, daily living support, homemaker services, and respite care . We are looking for someone with a strong personality who can confidently provide direction, encourage participation, set appropriate boundaries, and handle challenging behaviors while remaining calm, respectful, and professional. Pay starts at $19.00 per hour. Schedule Monday•
Thursday:
3:00 PM•6:00 PM — 1:1
Client Support Friday:
5-hour Homemaker shift
Every Other Saturday:
9:00 AM•3:00 PM — Respite This schedule averages approximately 20 hours per week , with 17 hours during weeks without Saturday respite and 26 hours during weeks with Saturday respite. Monday•
Thursday:
1:1 Client Support The caregiver will work directly with the assigned client on a one-on-one basis.
Responsibilities include:
Provide individualized support based on the client's needs, interests, abilities, and goals. Plan and participate in appropriate recreational, social, educational, and community activities. Keep the client actively engaged and encourage participation rather than simply providing supervision. Support the development of independence and daily living skills. Provide appropriate redirection and behavioral support when challenging behaviors occur. Follow the client's individualized service plan and applicable behavior support strategies. Assist with authorized personal care and daily living needs as required. Maintain a safe and supportive environment. Complete required Therap documentation accurately and on time. Report significant concerns, incidents, or changes in the client's needs to the appropriate supervisor.
Friday:
Homemaker Services The Friday shift is strictly for authorized Homemaker services .
Important:
Homemaker services do not automatically mean housekeeping or cleaning the entire home . The caregiver will complete only the homemaker tasks that are authorized in the client's service plan. Depending on the client's authorized services, homemaker duties may include: Light cleaning of areas identified in the service plan. Washing dishes. Laundry and changing linens. Meal preparation or assistance with meal preparation. Light organization of client-related areas. Other approved household tasks that support the client's needs. The employee is not responsible for deep cleaning or cleaning the entire home unless those specific tasks are authorized as part of the client's Homemaker services. The client may or may not be present in the home while Homemaker services are being provided. If the client is present, the employee's responsibility during the Homemaker shift remains focused on completing the authorized Homemaker tasks and does not include providing direct care, supervision, or personal care unless those services are separately authorized and scheduled.
Every Other Saturday:
Respite The caregiver will provide respite services from 9:00 AM•3:00 PM .
Responsibilities include:
Provide supervision and companionship while giving the client's primary caregiver a break. Keep the client engaged in appropriate recreational, social, and leisure activities. Support the client's routine and authorized daily needs. Provide appropriate assistance with personal care when authorized. Follow the client's individualized support and safety guidelines. Maintain a safe and positive environment throughout the respite shift. Qualifications Experience working with individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities is preferred. Experience supporting individuals with challenging behaviors is highly preferred. Strong and confident personality with the ability to provide appropriate direction and redirection. Patient, dependable, energetic, and compassionate. Comfortable working independently with one client. Able to remain calm and professional during challenging situations. First Aid/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain. QMAP certification preferred or willingness to obtain if required for assigned duties. Ability to maintain client confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is someone who is engaging, confident, patient, creative, and willing to take initiative . This position requires someone who will actively participate with the client, create meaningful activities, encourage independence, and confidently handle behavioral challenges.
