Position:

Cottonwood is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team to provide essential 1:1 support and companionship to a young lady living at home. The ideal candidate is someone who is energetic, reliable, and fun-loving. This is a great opportunity for students interested in special education, psychology, social work, or the medical field! Individual:

The individual we're hiring for is a young woman in her 40s . She enjoys spending time with her parents, playing on the computer, listening to music, and being around her support staff. She also enjoys running errands, swimming, and bowling.

Shift:

Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 10:00am-6:00pm (times can be flexible based on staff and the individual's schedule or planned activities)

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Assist with ADLs such as bathing, toileting, dressing, transfers/mobility needs, and medication administration. Provide transportation as needed. Plan and carry out a variety of meaningful recreational activities to advance social development and community integration. Activities may include outings to the park, rec centers, museums, or shopping. Foster positive relationships through engaging activities and social interaction both in the individual's home and the community. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of individual's information. Document individual goals and medical tracking electronically.

Qualifications & Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED. Previous experience working with IDD individuals, particularly with high needs - familiarity with positive behavior supports is preferred. Strong communication skills. Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others. Ability to transfer and assist individual as needed while adhering to safety protocols. Mature & dependable individual; minimum age of 21. Must meet background and reference requirements. Valid Colorado driver's license. Clean Driving Record. No suspensions & less than three tickets in three years.
