The DSP will play a vital role in promoting independence, safety, and well-being within home, community, and residential settings. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Provide patient observation and monitor health status, including vital signs and medication administration Support individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's care, including memory care strategies and safety measures Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with care plans and dietary restrictions Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts and ensure proper safety protocols are followed during transfers Maintain cleanliness of living spaces through light cleaning duties to promote a safe environment Document care activities accurately while adhering to HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans Engage residents in social activities to promote mental health and community involvement Respond promptly to emergencies using CPR or First Aid skills when necessary Requirements Prior experience in group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care is preferred Knowledge of patient care techniques including assisting with ADLs, medication administration, and patient monitoring Certifications such as CPR and First Aid are highly desirable Experience working with people with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, or memory care needs is advantageous Ability to lift heavy loads safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts; physical stamina for active caregiving tasks required Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills and patience for working with diverse populations Valid driver's license is a plus for community-based support roles Join our team if you are passionate about providing compassionate care that enhances the quality of life for individuals in need.
