Britain, CT Shift:
8:30 am to 2:30 pm- No Weekends Are you someone who loves helping others, enjoys being out and about, and believes every day should include a little fun?
What You'll Do:
Provide direct care and supervision to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a structured day program setting. Support individuals with daily living activities such as hygiene, mobility, eating, and personal care, while promoting dignity and independence. Facilitate and participate in group and individual activities-including arts and crafts, games, music, exercise, and life skills-encouraging social interaction, personal growth, and confidence. Drive the company van to transport participants to community outings such as bowling, parks, museums, and other recreational or educational events. Foster a safe, respectful, and joyful environment both within the program facility and during off-site activities. Assist individuals in setting and working toward personal goals that build life skills and meaningful relationships. Monitor and document participant progress, behaviors, and incidents accurately and in a timely manner. Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and families to ensure consistent, high-quality care. Adhere to all program policies, state regulations, and ethical standards related to disability services. Participate in ongoing staff training and professional development to maintain certifications and enhance service delivery.What You'll Need:

You'll be active throughout the day, which may include walking, standing, bending, lifting up to 25 lbs, and helping individuals with mobility needs. You may assist with personal care tasks such as hygiene, dressing, or feeding, depending on the needs of the individuals you support. Driving a company van is part of the job, so you'll need to be comfortable behind the wheel and able to safely transport participants to activities and appointments. The environment can be lively and fast-paced, with group activities, outings, and occasional changes in routine. You'll work both indoors and outdoors, including parks, community centers, and other public spaces. Weather conditions may vary. Emotionally, the role requires patience, empathy, and a positive attitude. You'll be supporting individuals with varying abilities, behaviors, and communication styles. Some days may be challenging, but the rewards of building relationships and making a difference are deeply fulfilling. You'll need to stay calm under pressure, be flexible with unexpected changes, and maintain a supportive and respectful approach at all times. Reasonable accommodations can be provided.
