Overview We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Caregiver/Personal Care Assistant to join our team. This role involves delivering high-quality personal care and support to individuals in various settings, including private homes, assisted living facilities, and nursing homes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient well-being, excellent communication skills, and experience working with diverse populations, including seniors and individuals with disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders. Duties Provide personal care assistance, including help with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Assist with medication administration and monitor vital signs according to care plans. Support patients with meal preparation, feeding, and ensuring proper nutrition. Conduct patient observation to identify changes in condition or behavior and report findings accurately. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and laundry. Support residents' rights by respecting privacy, dignity, and autonomy at all times. Utilize patient transfer methods safely using equipment such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques. Assist with transportation for medical appointments or community outings to promote independence. Follow HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information. Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to implement individualized care plans effectively. Experience Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to monitor patients' health status through vital signs assessment and observation skills. Experience providing Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory support, or hospice care is preferred. Knowledge of medication administration procedures and safety protocols such as CPR and first aid certification required. Familiarity with patient transfer methods including Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques is essential. Background working with individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, or neurodevelopmental disorders is advantageous. Proven ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families while maintaining professionalism and compassion.
