Job Description
## Job Summary We are seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide one on one care and support to a 34 yr old male, fully mobile but has a 3 yr old mentality. The ideal candidate will assist with daily living activities and foster a safe and supportive environment in our home. ## Responsibilities
- Full support with ALL self care such as feeding, bathing, toileting, dressing, and grooming. The individual is fully mobile but will rely on you for all self care. Will need to be changed frequently, partially toilet trained relying on your direction and timing.
- Support individual with developmental disabilities/autism, history of seizures (under control at this time) in our home as well as assisting with taking indiv to Dr. appointments with parent's assistance.
- Provide companionship and emotional support.
- Administer medication.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and organized living space.
- Combative behavior is occasional and redirection is needed
- Assist with meal prepping ## Qualifications
- Strong male preferred
- Experience in assisted living, long-term care, or home care settings preferred
- Ability to lift and perform heavy lifting as needed
- Familiarity with working with people with autism or developmental disabilities.
- Experience with combative individual.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work as a team with family.
- Valid driver's license for transporting individual if required
