Do you like to share laughs and smiles with the people you serve? Well then, Kent Sussex Industries, Inc. is looking for you to join our team as a Direct Support Professional Floater. All training needed for the position will be provided to compassionate individuals who like to work with people with disabilities. If that is you, please apply.
GENERAL INFORMATION
We are looking for full-time employees! Work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm. No nights, weekends, or holidays. Our DSP's report directly to the Case Manager. This position is a pay grade 4, with a compensation rate starting at $19.00 per hour.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Primary responsibility is to develop the skills of people with disabilities in a fun and interesting way, which may include trips to local community parks, museums or volunteer sites. Mentoring and providing educational trainings and opportunities, for our clients to meet their goals, that as a result will enhance their self-awareness, self-accomplishment and self-esteem.
CPR & MANDT
training certificate will be provided by the agency.
SKILL REQUIRMENTS
: Must be able to speak in front of a group; be able to teach/mentor to a group with disabilities. Basic computer skills are required. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and be able to type at least 30 words per minute.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able tostand, sit, and/or walk for up to 2.5 hours before breaks; must be able to do frequent reaching, bending and stooping; and must be able to do occasional pulling and pushing.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be 18 years of age . Must demonstrate a positive attitude, have excellent communication skills and be willing to be part of a team. Minimum of one-year experience working with people with disabilities is required. Must possess all the skill requirements as stated above to be eligible for hire. Must be able to pass a Criminal Background check, Adult Abuse Registry check, Child Abuse Registry check, Sex Offender Listing check, and drug screening. Must have or be able to obtain a valid Delaware Driver's License and have no more than two moving violations at the time of hire.
