DESCRIPTION

Provides support and training to adults with disabilities. Position reports to the Program Manager. Pay Grade 4, starting rate $19.00 per hour. Normal work schedule is 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday to Friday. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Primary responsibilities are to supervise adults with disabilities in a production setting. Responsible for supervising all participants so they are able to meet their daily production goals. Make product assessable to clients for production tasks. Encourage improvement of skills and abilities. Include the implementation of training plans and specific segments of the Individual Support Agreement (ISA); implements vocational programming activities for assigned groups of participants; provides individual training assistance to participants; completes all relevant paperwork in relation to the rehabilitation process for agency clientele; and potential to supervise participants in a production or community setting. Other responsibilities are to effectively operate a forklift and pallet jack ensuring all safety guidelines are met.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Physical requirements include the ability to stand, sit, and/or walk for up to 2.5 hours before breaks; must be able to do frequent reaching, bending and stooping; and must be able to do occasional pulling and pushing. Must be able to lift product from pallets and set up production settings.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must be 18 years of age. Minimum of one-year experience preferred with working with people with disabilities. Must be able to satisfactorily pass a Criminal Background check, Adult Abuse Registry check, Child Abuse Registry check and Sex Offender Listing check. Must have or be able to obtain a valid Delaware Driver's License and have no more than two moving violations at the time of hire. Must demonstrate a positive attitude, must have excellent communication skills and be willing to be part of a team.
