Home Health Aide New Vision Rehab, Inc - 3.0 Hialeah, FL Job Details Part-time | Full-time From $17 an hour 20 hours ago Qualifications Certified Home Health Aide Full Job Description Children's Village PPEC is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and energetic Home Health Aide (HHA) to join our pediatric care team. The HHA will assist in providing daily care and support to children with medically complex needs in our Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) center. Working under the supervision and direction of the nursing team, the HHA helps ensure that each child receives attentive, safe, and developmentally appropriate care in a nurturing, daycare-like environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist children with activities of daily living, including feeding, toileting, diaper changes, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene. Assist with positioning, transferring, mobility, and other physical needs according to each child's individualized plan of care and staff direction. Provide close supervision to help maintain a safe environment for all children. Assist nursing staff with the daily care of children as directed and within the HHA's permitted scope of practice. Observe children for changes in behavior, comfort, appearance, or general condition and promptly report concerns to the appropriate nurse. Assist children during meals and snacks according to established feeding instructions, dietary restrictions, and safety precautions. Participate in age-appropriate recreational, educational, sensory, and developmental activities. Support children as they participate in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy activities when directed by the appropriate professional. Maintain children's areas, equipment, toys, and supplies in a clean, organized, and sanitary condition in accordance with facility infection-control procedures. Follow proper hand hygiene, infection-control, and universal precaution procedures. Assist with arrival, dismissal, and transitions throughout the child's day. Maintain each child's privacy, dignity, safety, and confidentiality. Communicate respectfully and professionally with children, families, nurses, therapists, coworkers, and other members of the interdisciplinary team. Follow all Children's Village PPEC policies and procedures and applicable healthcare regulations. Immediately report accidents, injuries, safety concerns, suspected abuse or neglect, or other significant incidents according to facility policy. Complete required documentation accurately and in a timely manner. Attend required staff meetings, orientations, trainings, and competency evaluations. Perform other patient-care duties appropriate to the HHA role as assigned by the supervising nurse or administration. Qualifications Current Home Health Aide (HHA) certification/documentation meeting applicable Florida requirements. Current CPR/BLS certification, as required for the position. Previous experience working with infants and children is preferred. Experience working with medically complex or special-needs children is strongly preferred. Ability to follow nursing instructions and individualized plans of care. Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills. Compassionate, patient, dependable, and attentive to children's individual needs. Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements. Must successfully complete all required background screening, health screening, training, and other employment requirements applicable to the position. Physical Requirements The employee must be able to perform the physical functions necessary to safely care for pediatric patients, including standing, walking, bending, reaching, assisting with transfers and positioning, and lifting or assisting children and pediatric equipment when appropriate. Work Environment This position is performed in a pediatric healthcare/daycare environment serving children who may have complex medical, developmental, or therapeutic needs. The HHA works closely with Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, therapists, administrative staff, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.
