Position Summary As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide direct care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential group home setting. You will assist with daily living activities, promote independence, ensure the health and safety of individuals served, and provide compassionate, person-centered care. Responsibilities Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, and mobility. Provide companionship, encouragement, and positive reinforcement while promoting independence. Prepare simple meals and assist with light housekeeping duties. Observe and report any changes in behavior, health, or overall well-being to the supervisor promptly. Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed documentation of services provided and any incidents or concerns. Ensure the safety, dignity, and rights of each individual served. Follow all company policies, APD requirements, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Build and maintain positive, professional relationships with individuals served, their families, and fellow team members. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities is preferred but not required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and demonstrate sound judgment. Must successfully pass all required background screenings and meet state eligibility requirements. Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license are preferred. Independent Contractor (1099) Position This is a 1099 Independent Contractor position, not a W-2 employee position. Independent contractors are responsible for managing their own federal and state taxes and are not eligible for company-sponsored benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, unemployment benefits, or workers' compensation coverage.
