Job Description

Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Spanish-speaking Home Health Aide to provide quality in-home care to clients in need of assistance. This role is vital in supporting patients with various health conditions, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those recovering from illness or surgery. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to patient well-being, excellent communication skills in Spanish, and experience working in diverse care environments such as assisted living, nursing homes, or home health settings. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of clients while working in a supportive and professional environment. Duties Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Monitor and observe patient health status, reporting any changes or concerns promptly Administer medication and manage medical documentation following HIPAA guidelines Perform vital signs assessments such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature readings Support patients with dementia or Alzheimer's care, memory care, and hospice needs with patience and understanding Operate EMR/EHR systems accurately for documentation of care provided Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts and catheter care devices safely and effectively Prepare meals according to dietary requirements and assist with feeding if necessary Perform light housekeeping tasks including laundry and cleaning to maintain a safe environment Support patients with mobility using equipment like Hoyer lifts or transfer belts Assist with medical procedures such as wound care or medication administration under supervision Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being Skills Fluent in Spanish with excellent verbal communication skills; proficiency in English is a plus Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to home health care Experience working with seniors, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those requiring long-term care Familiarity with assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospice care, and community-based services Ability to work independently while following detailed care plans and protocols Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and privacy CPR certification is required; additional certifications such as medication administration or dementia care are preferred Experience using EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation of patient information Compassionate caregiver with patience, empathy, and excellent interpersonal skills Ability to handle physically demanding tasks safely, including lifting and transferring patients This role is essential for providing compassionate home health services that improve quality of life for clients.
