A Transitions Life Center Direct Support Professional has a caring heart, is compassionate, and approaches each program member with dignity and respect (encouraging without forcing). DSPs are engaged with program members for activities and assist with all aspects of the day including usage of restroom facilities, hand and face washing, changing of clothing, assist with feeding, and promoting independence.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist with food preparation for members. Assist members with personal needs such as feeding and toileting. Aid members with assistive technology and augmentative communication devices/tools. Communicate effectively with members, instructors and other staff. All concerns/incidents should be immediately reported to the Lead Instructor. Able to lift 50 pounds independently, 100 pounds with assistance, and shift 100 pounds with force. Perform related duties as assigned.
