Job Description

Job Overview Delma Group Homes is seeking compassionate and dependable individuals to join our team as Direct Care Aides. We provide care to individuals with developmental disabilities in a supportive group home environment, with the ultimate goal of independent living. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about helping others and making a meaningful difference in their community. Responsibilities Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the social well-being of clients. Assist clients with transportation - Accompany residents to appointments and community outings Monitor and document clients' progress, behaviors, and any changes in health status. Facilitate recreational activities that promote engagement and social interaction. Ensure a safe environment by adhering to safety protocols and responding promptly to emergencies. Assist with heavy lifting as needed for client mobility or transportation. Maintain a clean and orderly home environment by completing routine household cleaning and organizing tasks. Skills Experience in caregiving or working in group home settings is highly valued. Strong caregiving skills with an emphasis on compassion and empathy. Familiarity with working with individuals who have developmental disabilities is essential. Cooking skills are beneficial (Not required) for preparing nutritious meals for clients. Qualifications Must be 18 years or older High school diploma or GED Valid Florida driver's license with a clean record CPR and First Aid certification (or willing to obtain) Minimum 1 year of caregiving or behavioral support experience preferred Ability to lift 25+ pounds and assist with physical support tasks Proficient in Google Docs, and Word is a plus Must pass Level 2 background check and drug screening Personal References needed.
