We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Personal Care Assistant to support an adult with autism. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the unique needs of individuals with autism and be committed to providing respectful and personalized care.Available Hours :
Multiple shifts throughout the day are available covering a 24-hour period. Specific shifts and schedules will be discussed during the interview process.Compensation:
Pay will be based on experience and qualificationsKey Responsibilities:
- Assist the individual with daily living activities.
- Provide companionship and engage in meaningful social and recreational activities.
- Implement strategies and interventions to support behavior, communication, and overall well-being.
- Support the individual during community outings and ensure safety at all times.
- Monitor and document the individual's progress and any notable behaviors.
- Work collaboratively with family members and any involved professionals to ensure consistency in care.
- Attend relevant training sessions or workshops as required.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Experience as a behavioral technician is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with individuals, families, and professionals.
- Patient, empathetic, and understanding in addressing the unique challenges faced by those with autism.
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and needs.
- Must pass a background check.
- Must be 18 years of age, have a valid driver's license, and reliable transportation.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification in Personal Care or a related field is a plus.
