Young Male Suzie Q's Home Care is seeking a mature, dependable, responsible male companion to work with a young male in the community. The ideal candidate will enjoy helping others and be comfortable supporting a young man with community activities, social opportunities, and developing greater independence .
Responsibilities Include:
Accompanying the individual on community outings Providing companionship and positive interaction Participating in recreational and social activities Supporting daily living and independent living skills Encouraging appropriate social interactions and community behavior Assisting with shopping, appointments, recreational activities, and other community activities Helping the individual make appropriate choices and participate in activities he enjoys Providing supervision and ensuring safety while in the community Completing required documentation Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to provide exceptional care and assistance to individuals with diverse needs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for residents through personalized support, ensuring safety, dignity, and independence. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities, seniors, or those requiring specialized care in various settings such as group homes, assisted living facilities, or community-based programs. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, and mobility support. Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, administering medications, and recording health updates in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Support residents during meal preparation and feeding, ensuring nutritional needs are met while accommodating dietary restrictions. Utilize patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques to ensure safe movement and positioning. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing routine cleaning tasks and adhering to infection control protocols. Provide emotional support and engage residents in meaningful activities to promote socialization and mental well-being. Follow individualized care plans developed by healthcare professionals, including dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and neurodevelopmental support. Document all interactions accurately and communicate effectively with team members regarding resident progress or concerns. Assist with transportation for medical appointments or community outings using appropriate personal transportation assistance methods. Respond promptly to emergencies with first aid or CPR when necessary, ensuring resident safety at all times. Experience Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly desirable. Familiarity with patient observation techniques, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and care plan implementation. Hands-on experience providing dementia care, Alzheimer's care, or memory support for individuals with neurodevelopmental or intellectual disabilities. Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards related to patient confidentiality and data security. Proven ability to perform patient transfers using Hoyer lifts or other safe manual handling methods; heavy lifting may be required. Experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is advantageous. Demonstrated caregiving skills in geriatrics, hospice care, or long-term care settings; home & community care experience is a plus. Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration in diverse caregiving environments.
