Job Overview Looking for weekend staff to assist a young lady with ADL's We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to provide exceptional care and assistance to individuals with diverse needs, including developmental disabilities, aging, and health conditions such as dementia or autism. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for residents through personalized support, attentive caregiving, and fostering a safe, respectful environment. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those served while working within a supportive team dedicated to excellence in care. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Monitor residents' health status by observing vital signs, patient behavior, and overall condition; report changes promptly to healthcare professionals. Administer medications following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations and safety protocols. Support residents during meal preparation and feeding, ensuring nutritional needs are met in accordance with dietary guidelines. Operate patient handling equipment such as Hoyer lifts and assist with heavy lifting tasks safely and effectively. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of living spaces, including cleaning common areas and personal spaces in compliance with health standards. Document care activities accurately and confidentially while collaborating with healthcare teams to develop or update individualized care plans. Provide emotional support and companionship, fostering a positive environment that promotes dignity and independence for residents. Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings is highly desirable. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring. Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional training in Alzheimer's care, dementia care, or hospice care is advantageous. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards related to patient information. Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting and the use of patient mobility equipment safely. Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach toward individuals with disabilities or aging-related conditions. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or memory impairments is preferred.
