Our work environment includes:
On-the-job training We are looking for a Direct Support Professional (Companion) to join our team and provide support to individuals with disabilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting individuals with emotional support and helping them to reach their personal goals. The ideal candidate will have a compassionate and patient demeanor, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. This position provides one-on-one companionship and community support to an adult male with developmental disabilities. The individual receiving services has a strong preference for sports and outdoor activities. Monday-Friday 2:00pm-6:30pm Companionship/ Male (Must have own vehicle and valid driver's license)
Responsibilities:
Male Consumer Transport individual from day program at 2pm Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse Assist with physical examinations and medical procedures under the supervision of healthcare professionals Administer medications as directed by healthcare professionals Assist in the transfer and transportation of patients within the home Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation Provide emotional support to patients and their families Collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure high-quality patient care Transport individual from day program Provide emotional support and encouragement to individuals. Maintain a safe and secure environment for individuals. Write daily notes electronically Assist with medical needs as directed by a physician or nurse. Assist with communication, mobility, and socialization skills. Assist with recreational activities, including outings and community integration activities.
Requirements:
Must be 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent Must pass a Level 2 Background Screening & Local Law 2 years of employment reference and 3 personal references Valid Drivers license CPR/BLS Certification Valid vehicle insurance Zero Tolerance, HIPPA, HIV/AIDS, Direct Care Core Competencies, Electronic EMR Within 30 days of employment
Pay:
$15.00 - $17.50 per hour Application Question(s): This position provides one-on-one companionship and community support to an adult male with developmental disabilities. The individual receiving services has a strong preference for a male companion to support rapport and engagement.
