Company Overview Saint Michael's Home Care is a licensed home care provider dedicated to delivering compassionate, non-medical assistance to seniors and individuals requiring extra support within their homes. Our services include meal preparation, light housekeeping, companionship, and general personal care, enabling clients to maintain their independence and quality of life. Overview We are seeking a dedicated Home Health Aide to provide in-home care for clients in the area. This part-time position involves working two days a week—Monday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and Friday from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. The ideal candidate will possess a caring nature, excellent patient observation skills, and experience in assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs). This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors and individuals with disabilities by providing respectful and personalized care. Duties Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and mobility support using patient transfer methods and equipment like Hoyer lifts. Monitor and record vital signs, medication administration, and changes in health status while adhering to medical documentation standards. Support clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including meal preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, and cleaning to promote a safe and comfortable environment. Observe and report any changes in client condition or behavior, ensuring compliance with home healthcare regulations and HIPAA confidentiality standards. Provide companionship and emotional support tailored to clients' needs, including dementia or Alzheimer's care when applicable. Maintain accurate records using Electronic Health Record (EHR) or Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems for documentation of care provided. Follow all safety protocols including first aid, CPR certification requirements, and infection control procedures. Skills Proven experience working with geriatric patients or individuals with developmental disabilities. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medication management, catheter care, and vital signs monitoring. Familiarity with home health agency operations, hospice care principles, and home & community care practices. Ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families while maintaining patient confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines. Competence in patient transfer methods such as gait belts or Hoyer lifts; experience with patient personal care assistance is essential. Knowledge of home health care assistance regulations combined with caregiving skills that emphasize compassion, dependability, and professionalism. Basic life support (BLS), first aid certification, and CPR training are required or preferred for this role.
