Job Description
Job Summary Join our compassionate team as a Personal Care Assistant, where your dedication and support will make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring assistance with daily activities and personal care. In this vital role, you will provide respectful, empathetic care to residents in various settings such as assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or community homes. Your proactive approach will promote independence, safety, and well-being for those under your care. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using manual handling techniques and equipment such as Hoyer lifts. Monitor residents' health status by observing patient behavior, recording vital signs, and reporting any changes to healthcare professionals promptly. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs while maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen area. Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties such as cleaning resident rooms and common areas regularly. Engage residents in social activities and provide companionship to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being. Follow all safety protocols including CPR, First Aid, and emergency procedures to ensure resident safety at all times. Experience Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, dementia (including Alzheimer's and memory care), or other neurodevelopmental disorders is highly preferred. Experience in group home settings, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is advantageous. Knowledge of care plans, patient monitoring techniques, medication administration, and HIPAA compliance is essential. Demonstrated ability to perform patient observation accurately and respond effectively to changing needs. Familiarity with manual handling equipment such as Hoyer lifts and experience assisting with ADLs is desirable.
