Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Senior Caregiver to join our team! In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive personal and medical support to seniors and individuals with disabilities, ensuring their safety, well-being, and comfort. Your passion for caregiving and your ability to foster trusting relationships will make a meaningful difference in the lives of those you serve. Responsibilities Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using proper manual handling techniques such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods Monitor patients' vital signs and observe for any changes in health status or behavior, documenting findings accurately in care plans Administer medications and assist with medication management in accordance with HIPAA regulations and care protocols Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with meal planning and preparation Support clients with memory care needs such as Alzheimer's or dementia by implementing specialized strategies and ensuring a safe environment Provide transportation assistance for appointments, errands, or community activities while prioritizing safety and resident rights Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and sanitizing living areas Skills Proven experience working with seniors or individuals with disabilities in settings such as assisted living, nursing homes, group homes, or home health environments Strong knowledge of patient observation, monitoring vital signs, medication administration, and first aid/CPR certification Familiarity with care plans, HIPAA compliance, dementia and Alzheimer's care, hospice support, and neurodevelopmental disorders Excellent communication skills for engaging with clients, families, and healthcare teams effectively Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and use patient transfer equipment like Hoyer lifts confidently Experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is a plus Compassionate approach to providing personal support while respecting residents' rights and promoting independence Equal Opportunity FirstLight Home Care of Savannah / Hilton Head Island is committed to providing equal employment opportunities and maintaining a professional, respectful, and safe workplace.
