Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide exceptional support and care to individuals in various settings, including home health, assisted living, nursing homes, and group homes. Responsibilities Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using proper patient transfer methods and manual handling techniques like Hoyer lifts. Monitor patients' vital signs, observe changes in condition, and report findings accurately to healthcare professionals. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal planning and preparation. Support medication administration following care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy. Provide companionship and emotional support, fostering a respectful environment that upholds residents' rights. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring infection control standards are met. Assist with transportation needs for appointments or community outings using appropriate personal transportation assistance methods. Experience Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities, developmental or intellectual disabilities support, or senior care is highly preferred. Experience in group home settings, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is advantageous. Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, hospice care, and neurodevelopmental disorders enhances your ability to provide specialized support. Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications such as Hoyer lift training or medication administration are a plus. Familiarity with patient observation techniques, patient monitoring protocols, and resident's rights ensures quality care delivery. Demonstrated ability to handle heavy lifting safely and perform manual handling tasks effectively is essential for supporting clients' mobility needs.
