Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide exceptional support and care to individuals in a home setting. This vital role involves assisting clients with daily activities, monitoring health status, and ensuring their safety and comfort. The ideal candidate will be energetic, detail-oriented, and committed to enhancing the quality of life for those they serve. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference while developing valuable caregiving skills. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming if needed. Monitor patients' vital signs and observe for any changes in health status, documenting findings accurately in care plans. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary. Support patients with medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and prescribed care plans. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring infection control protocols are followed. Provide transportation assistance for appointments or errands, ensuring client safety during travel. Engage in patient communication to foster trust, understanding, and emotional well-being, especially when working with individuals with autism, dementia, or neurodevelopmental disorders. Evening hours starting at 2:30 pm- 10 pm Mon-Fri and some Saturday day shifts if needed. Experience Experience working with individuals with disabilities, developmental or intellectual disabilities, or memory care needs such as Alzheimer's or dementia care. Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques including vital signs measurement and patient personal care assistance. Familiarity with care plans, medication administration procedures, first aid, CPR certification, and HIPAA compliance is essential Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with patient transfers while maintaining proper body mechanics.
