Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to provide exceptional support and care to individuals in various settings, including in-home care. This vital role involves assisting clients with daily activities, monitoring their health, and ensuring their comfort and safety. The ideal candidate will bring energy, empathy, and a proactive approach to enhancing the quality of life for those they serve. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference while developing valuable skills in patient care and support. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks including cleaning client areas and laundry. Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being, especially for individuals with dementia or neurodevelopmental disorders like autism. Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home health environments is highly preferred. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and hospice care practices. Familiarity with patient monitoring tools such as vital signs measurement and medication administration procedures. Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications related to HIPAA compliance or dementia care are advantageous. Experience working with individuals with disabilities, developmental or intellectual disabilities support, or neurodevelopmental disorders will be considered a strong asset. Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with clients, families, and healthcare teams while respecting residents' rights.
