Job Overview Agape ILG is seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide direct care and support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities within our residential programs. DSPs play a vital role in helping participants live safe, meaningful, and independent lives while promoting dignity, respect, choice, and inclusion. Team members will assist participants with daily living activities, community involvement, emotional support, and maintaining a healthy and positive home environment. The services we provide operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, making reliability, teamwork, and commitment essential to ensuring the well-being and safety of our participants. Duties Assist participants with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene Support participants with meal preparation, feeding assistance, and household tasks Assist with medications as trained and authorized Maintain accurate documentation including daily notes, medication records, incident reports, and participant progress notes Encourage participant independence, choice, and community involvement Transport participants to appointments, activities, and community outings as needed Provide companionship, emotional support, and positive encouragement Ensure participant safety and maintain a clean, healthy, and supportive living environment Follow Individual Support plans, behavioral support plans, and agency policies Report changes in participant behavior, health, or safety concerns promptly Communicate professionally with team members, supervisors, families, guardians, and healthcare professionals Participate in required trainings, staff meetings, and continuing education Assist during emergency situations and follow emergency procedures when necessary Promote participant rights, dignity, confidentiality, and person-centered care practices Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities preferred Compassionate, patient, dependable, and team-oriented attitude Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to pass background checks and required screenings CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain Physical Requirements Ability to lift, transfer, and assist participants as needed Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical caregiving duties Ability to respond quickly during emergency situations Work Environment This position works within residential homes supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Residential services are provided 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, requiring professionalism, flexibility, compassion, and dependable attendance

Pay:

$14.00 - $16.00 per hour Expected hours: No more than 40.0 per week
