Duties Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, and mobility support using manual handling techniques such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods Monitor patients' health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes promptly to healthcare teams Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning in accordance with care plans and dietary restrictions Support clients during community outings or appointments by providing transportation assistance and ensuring safety throughout activities Administer medications following HIPAA guidelines and care plan instructions while maintaining accurate documentation of medication administration Engage clients in meaningful activities tailored to their interests and needs, fostering social interaction and skill development Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties, adhering to infection control protocols, and ensuring compliance with health regulations such as First Aid and CPR certifications Experience Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly valued Demonstrated ability to provide patient observation, monitor vital signs, and support patients with dementia or Alzheimer's care Experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities enhances your ability to deliver personalized care Knowledge of resident's rights, HIPAA compliance, medication administration, and patient monitoring procedures is essential Familiarity with specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or patient transfer devices is preferred Proven skills in caregiving for seniors or those requiring memory care support reflect your dedication to compassionate service Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and collaboration with healthcare teams are necessary for success in this role Join us as a Direct Support Professional where your caring nature fuels positive change.
