Duties Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to support their personal hygiene and comfort. Monitor patients' health by observing vital signs, recognizing changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately to healthcare professionals. Support medication administration following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality. Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding to ensure dietary needs are met safely and comfortably. Help clients with mobility and transfers using appropriate patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts or manual handling techniques to promote safety. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring infection control standards are upheld. Provide emotional support and effective communication to foster trust, understanding, and positive relationships with clients. Requirements Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health care settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer's care), memory care, and hospice care practices. Ability to assist with complex patient needs such as using Hoyer lifts, patient transfer methods, or manual handling techniques safely. Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as medication administration or HIPAA training are advantageous. Experience working with individuals with disabilities—including developmental disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, or autism—is a plus. Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and documentation of care activities. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary and support patients during transfers or mobility tasks.
