Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility Monitor patients' health by taking vital signs and observing for any changes in condition Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and safety Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning to meet dietary needs Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning and sanitation tasks Use specialized equipment like Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs to safely transfer residents with mobility challenges Document patient observations, care provided, and any incidents accurately in compliance with healthcare standards Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being and reduce feelings of isolation Requirements Prior experience in home care, assisted living, nursing homes, or group homes is highly preferred Knowledge of patient observation techniques and ability to recognize changes in condition or behavior Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as Alzheimer's or dementia care are a plus Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or memory care needs is advantageous Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting with transfers or mobility tasks Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information Strong communication skills and compassionate attitude toward clients of all ages and backgrounds Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are preferred for home visits Embark on a rewarding career where your efforts directly improve lives.
