Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to ensure comfort and hygiene. Monitor patients' health by observing vital signs and reporting any changes or concerns promptly. Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary. Help with mobility and transfers using proper manual handling techniques and equipment like Hoyer lifts or patient transfer methods. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols. Provide companionship, emotional support, and effective communication to foster trust and enhance quality of life for clients. Qualifications Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or in senior care settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, patient monitoring, and care plans is essential. Familiarity with assisted living environments, nursing homes, home health care, hospice care, or group homes is advantageous. Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training or medication administration are a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with manual handling tasks; experience working with Hoyer lifts or patient transfer methods is beneficial. Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and teamwork within multidisciplinary care settings.
