Job Description
Job Summary Join our dedicated team as a Personal Care Assistant and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring compassionate, personalized support. In this vital role, you will provide direct assistance with daily activities, ensure safety and well-being, and foster independence for residents across various care settings. Duties Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using manual handling techniques such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods. Monitor patients' health by taking vital signs, observing changes in condition, and reporting findings to healthcare professionals promptly. Support medication administration according to care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with meal consumption to promote health and well-being. Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light cleaning duties, organizing personal spaces, and ensuring infection control standards are met. Document patient observations, care activities, and progress accurately in compliance with healthcare protocols. Provide emotional support and companionship to residents with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, autism spectrum disorder, or other developmental disabilities, fostering a sense of security and belonging. Requirements Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred. Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques including vital signs measurement and dementia or memory care practices. Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting when necessary. Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional training in hospice care or neurodevelopmental disorders is a plus. Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality of patient information.
