Job Description

Job Overview Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) specializing in Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS). In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, personalized care to individuals with diverse needs, empowering them to live independently and thrive within their communities. Your energetic and patient-centered approach will make a meaningful difference in the lives of those you serve. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your caregiving skills while fostering independence and well-being for individuals with disabilities, seniors, and those requiring specialized care such as Alzheimer's or dementia support. Duties Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Monitor patient health by observing behavior and reporting changes to healthcare teams Support medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care plans Prepare nutritious meals and assist with cooking to meet dietary needs and preferences Maintain a clean, safe environment through regular cleaning routines and adherence to infection control protocols Document care activities accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being, especially for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease Participate in training to enhance your caregiving skills Collaborate with team members to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each person's needs Skills Experience in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments, or willingness to learn Knowledge of patient observation techniques and monitoring vital signs accurately, or willingness to learn Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information, or willingness to learn. Excellent communication skills for working effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder Compassionate attitude with patience for working with developmental disabilities or mental health diagnosis. Ability to work independently while collaborating within a team of healthcare professionals Join us in making a positive impact every day!
