Here at Community Connections, we work directly with Adults who have developmental and intellectual disabilities. Our first priority, after safety, is teaching independent living skills. This can include memorizing an address, balancing a checkbook, working at a job, making a menu and so much more. In Boise, we have an Adult Day Program where our clients come to participate in a group setting. During the week, the group spends half of their time in the day center, and half of their time out in the community. In the community, they do things such as go out to eat, shop at thrift stores, visit libraries and museums, play sports in the park, go to the movies and even have pool days! In the center they do things such as cooking groups, art projects, board games, computer skills, and socializing. This is an awesome environment which provides daily support and a lot of variety to avoid boredom and burnout. This position requires the ability to encourage clients and staff to participate, requires leadership ability, creativity, and great communication skills. You must have experience working with people with disabilities, and the desire to be a leader. In addition to working in our Day Program, you will be working as a Job coach with clients at their place of employment. This position requires the ability to patiently teach work skills, while helping your client match their supervisors' expectations.

Schedule:
