Job Description

Direct Support Professional Job Summary Rockwell Care Services is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide support to individuals with developmental disabilities in their homes and throughout the community. Direct Support Professionals assist individuals with daily living activities, personal care, community participation, and skill development while following individualized support plans. This position works closely with individuals to promote independence and support their personal goals.
Responsibilities Responsibilities include:
Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs) Provide companionship and emotional support Assist with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene Prepare meals and assist with meal planning Perform light housekeeping Provide medication reminders Transport individuals to appointments, community activities, and errands Support participation in recreational, educational, and community activities Assist individuals in developing daily living and independent living skills Follow individualized support plans and program guidelines Complete required documentation accurately and on time Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive environment Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and family members, as appropriate Follow established procedures during emergencies Qualifications Applicants must: Be at least 18 years of age Have a high school diploma or GED Possess a valid driver's license Have access to a reliable, insured vehicle Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills Demonstrate professionalism and effective decision-making Be dependable and able to work independently and as part of a team Previous experience as a Direct Support Professional (DSP), Caregiver, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Home Health Aide, Personal Care Assistant, or in a related healthcare or human services position is preferred but not required. Paid training is provided.
