Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide exceptional care and support to individuals with diverse needs, including developmental disabilities, aging, and memory care requirements. In this vital role, you will empower residents to live as independently as possible while ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. Must have a High School Diploma or GED, must bring to interview. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, toileting (changing depends or pull ups) , grooming, and mobility assistance using tools like Hoyer lifts when necessary. Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing changes in condition, and reporting findings to healthcare professionals. Administer medications following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and confidentiality. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist residents during mealtimes to promote independence. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing routine cleaning tasks in resident rooms, common areas, and activity spaces. Support residents during community outings or activities to promote social engagement and mental stimulation. Follow established care plans and document all care activities accurately to ensure continuity of care and compliance with regulations such as HIPAA. Requirements Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly desirable. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, autism support, and working with individuals with disabilities. Certification or training in first aid, CPR, medication administration, and HIPAA compliance is preferred. Strong communication skills for collaborating with team members, residents, families, and healthcare providers. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for caregiving are essential qualities for success in this role. Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays.
