The Life Skills Coach supports individuals with developmental, intellectual and other disabilities as they make choices about their lives and play valued roles in their communities. They encourage the people they serve to explore what they want out of life, develop and enhance their life skills, and to chart their own journeys. To learn more about this position, please read the summarized list of duties below: Challenge individuals to grow in an independent world. Provide on-site job training and support services, service plan implementation, advocacy, linkage, and transportation as needed. Attend to personal care needs, such as bathing, hygiene, toileting, grooming etc. Ensure communication with supervisor and other team members are clear, concise and honest. Complete progress notes, goal reports and other clinical documentation by assigned deadlines. Being aware of and confident in dealing with medical and emergent needs e.g. seizures, health concerns, allergies fires, server weather, etc. Help to develop cognitive, emotional and life functioning abilities of each consumer for the purpose of rehabilitation and to positivity impact their lives. Minimum requirements include a High School Diploma/GED, valid driver license, driving history that meets company's insurability and reliable transportation. Direct Support Professional (DSP), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), or Emergency Medical Tech (EMT) or similar experience a plus! Must be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certification offered through Bridgeway, along with successfully passing the Direct Support Person (DSP) credential and Medication training program. If licensed, required to maintain license requirements. Employment with Bridgeway is conditional upon completion of all background checks. Bridgeway offers a meaningful employment experience!
