Minimum Requirements:
  • High School Diploma and/or GED The ability to lift/carry up to 44 lbs.
and perform basic physical moves such as kneeling, reaching, crouching, bending, and twisting. Required valid driver's license. The willingness to be certified to drive 10-16 passenger vehicles is required. We provide the training and certification process. Flexibility to work weekend shifts and potentially some holidays are required. 2 weeks of full-time paid training is provided and required to become certified as a DSP (regardless of previous training). The ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certification, however, training is provided. Must meet federal (I9) and State requirements (i.e.: fingerprinting, background check, etc.) Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to be a certified driver through PACE Vanpool.
Responsibilities:
Provide support with personal self-care tasks such as toileting, eating, grooming, bathing, and dressing. Contribute to the planning and participation in various community activities and medical appointments. Offer necessary transportation support to ensure residents' participation. Engage actively with residents, implementing meaningful activities throughout their day or evening. Understand and follow Individual Service Plans, actively contributing to the achievement of established goals for the current period. Support residents in various recreational activities, programs, and goal-oriented initiatives. Provide supervision and attention throughout the day to ensure the safety and well-being of residents.
