Role Description This is a full-time on-site role for a Direct Support Professional based in Wheeling, IL. In this role, you will provide hands-on support and assistance to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a variety of settings. Daily responsibilities include assisting with personal care, facilitating community engagement, fostering skill-building activities, and promoting independence. You will also support individuals in achieving their personal goals and maintaining a safe and positive living environment. Pay rate is $21-$24/hr. Qualifications Experience or knowledge in Human Services and working with individuals with Intellectual Disabilities Strong Interpersonal Skills and the ability to build positive relationships Effective verbal and written Communication skills for clear and empathetic interaction Capacity to provide guidance and Training to support individuals' personal growth Patience, compassion, and adaptability in working with diverse populations High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in caregiving or human services are a plus Valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required Ability to pass a background check and complete relevant training programs
