Responsibilities Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, and mobility support Monitor patient health by taking vital signs, observing for changes, and reporting findings according to care plans Administer medications safely following HIPAA regulations and prescribed protocols Support residents with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring nutritional needs are met Operate patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques to ensure safe mobility Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning duties and adherence to infection control standards Document care activities accurately in compliance with privacy laws like HIPAA and update care plans regularly Provide emotional support and companionship to foster a positive environment for clients Assist with transportation needs for appointments or community outings using personal transportation assistance when necessary Follow all safety procedures including CPR and first aid to respond effectively in emergencies Requirements Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings is highly preferred Knowledge of patient observation techniques and dementia or Alzheimer's care is advantageous Familiarity with medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling safely while maintaining client dignity and safety Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration Certification in CPR and first aid is required; additional certifications like HIPAA training are a plus Experience working with individuals with autism, neurodevelopmental disorders, or developmental disabilities is desirable Commitment to respecting resident's rights and maintaining confidentiality at all times This role is perfect for compassionate caregivers eager to support individuals across various stages of life while advancing their skills in healthcare.
